Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me.

Sadly I will be alone for this one. Matt had to do a concert he didn't want to do, so I will be live tweeting (humonlazydiva) my impression of the whole shebang.

The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

Okay so for those of you who read my fan fiction "It Started With Kidnapping" I'm going to be changing the title.

Raise your hand if you started reading that and thought I was going to discontinue it

But yeah, this title was never going to be permanent. And I've been digging around my head trying to find a not so lame one when it clicked.
I should get a title to do with a song.
The song is Alumina by Nightmare [link] you all know it, since if you're reading my fanfic it you should have seen Death Note.
The lyrics are similar to how I want the story to go so I'm finding it perfect.

Thus I change the name of It Started With Kidnapping to....

Overflowing Impulses

...and it's still kinda lame
Oh and the title comes from the 6th line

In other news, I know I haven't updated in a while, but you'll have to wait even longer I'm afraid.
I've heard from my beta reader that I need to fix things up in both chapters 1 and 2, and also schools back. But don't worry, the newly dubbed, Overflowing Impulses ch 3 is halfway through the works.

Man I feel so bad for making you wait.
